Dr. Anthony J. Kozma, D.O. Medical Director
Dr. Kozma practices addiction medicine and chronic pain medication management in Portland, Maine. His addiction training began early while growing up in an alcoholic family in Detroit, Michigan. After finishing his B.A. at Albion College in Albion, Michigan, he moved to Kirksville, Missouri for medical school. After completing his internship through the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, he completed a Family Practice residency at the University of New England. Upon graduation, he took a job doing addiction medicine and pain management with Stanley Evans, MD and the Mercy Hospital Recovery Center. He now provides these services full-time in private practice (including home visits), in addition to serving as Medical Director for Crooked River Counseling, lecturing on a regular basis to medical groups and associations, and teaching at the University of New England and St. Matthew’s University. He has been using Suboxone in his practice since 2003, being one of the first in Maine to do so, and has treated hundreds of patients with all types of substance abuse issues.
Stephanie has worked in the Lewiston area for the past few years developing her skills in the field of addiction and mental health. After completing her Bachelor's degree she began developing her clinical skills in substance abuse counseling. She pursued a certificate in public policy and management through the Muskie School in hopes to eventually write grants, and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Criminology/Public Administration.
Stephanie recently partnered with Crooked River Counseling, PA and opened the first CRC affiliate office in Lewiston, Me. Stephanie prides herself on her ability to meet her clients at their level. She is able to incorporate case management and life skills in her counseling model to provide each client with the tools needed to over come past addiction and trauma. Whenever possible family and others involved in the clients care are encouraged to participate in sessions to ensure the proper continuum of care for the client. She is DEEP Certified and offers Evaluations and treatment for OUI offenders. Stephanie also works in the Women’s Prison providing DSAT.

Catherine Clough-Bell, LADC, CCS Clinical Director
Catherine moved from Massachuetts to Maine in 1992 to raise her two young children away from the city. After a failed marriage largely due to the effects of alcoholism, she began her career as an alcohol & drug counselor in 1997 with a sincere desire to help both those with the disease and those affected by it. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Springfield College, School of Human Services in Manchester NH, and graduated Cum Laude Prior to being the founder of Crooked River Counseling PA, she worked in Lewiston at a Family Social Work and Substance Abuse Practice, gaining experience working with co-occuring populations and working with multi- disciplinary teams. Dedicated to her profession she serves on numerous committees both locally and at the State level. She is a skilled group facilitator; adolescents, anger management, adult children of alcoholics, process of addiction, and Women's Recovery, and when needed she co-facilitates the agency’s intensive outpatient treatment program ( IOP). Catherine provides supervision for all clinicians at CRC as well as serving her own caseload of clients. Skilled in working with individuals & families, she helps them navigate their recovery process. Her volunteer activities have included being a co-ordinator for the Inland FIsheries and Wildlife Program "Hooked On Fishing, Not on Drugs" where she and her husband taught this program to children in grades 4-6 as an after school program.
Dawn Mills, CADC, LSW-C
Dawn specializes in working with the adolescent population. She has extensive experience having worked with Volunteer's of America as an intregal member of their Day Reporting program. She is an experienced group facilitator, currently facilitating our children of chemically dependent persons group called "Chameleons" Dawn also spearheaded the effort to bring Alateen to our local community.
